Drone tones

Muse make another monster

The ultimate rock band Muse recently released their seventh album, Drones. The British trio claim that they have returned to a simpler style, but the album has their usual monster riffs and epic production. It is also their first time collaborating with famous producer, Mutt Lange, who has worked with bands like AC/DC and Maroon 5.

Drones sticks with the same concept as Muse’s earlier albums, so the lyrics deal with technology taking over humanity and the toxicity of society. But there are also songs about the disappointment and elation of a relationship break-up.

Drones is a powerful album packed with rocking anthems. There are touches of Pink Floyd and even opera in some of the tracks. The heavy music and intense lyrics make this record a meaningful work of art. — AS
