Hot pop trio Room 39 recently released their first album, Room 39. The album features 11 songs, including the covers “Mai Mi (Nothing),” originally by P.O.P, and “Yu Nai Chai (In the Heart)” originally by Boyd Kosiyabong. The rest of Room 39 is mostly a collection of singles that the group has released over the last three years.

After attracting millions of viewers on YouTube by covering hit songs like B.O.B’s “Nothing on You” and Jason Mraz’s “Lucky,” Room 39 signed a contract with the Love Is label and released hit singles like “Nuang (Somewhat Worried)” and “Chun Tong Koo Kab Thoe (I Am Your Match).”

Apart from those hits, album highlights include “Kerd Ma Pen Phuean Thoe (Born to be Your Friend),” recorded for the soundtrack of Yak (The Giant King). This song’s lyrics about friendship were written by Stamp Apiwat. Another great album track is “Tham Pueak Thoe, Thee Rak (For Her, My Dear),” the first single sung by Wanyai and featuring guest vocals from Oui Buddha Bless.

The album’s last track, “Chua Mong Ti Suai Ngam (The Beautiful Hour),” will make listeners feel good with Mon’s sweet, smooth voice and a great pop ballad melody. The song was written by Room 39 when they were in Los Angeles.

Room 39 is like a diary of the band’s work so far, collecting together collecting 11 catchy hits with meaningful lyrics. Room 39’s fans and those who like Thai pop ballads should grab a copy of this album. — HN
