Top actors gear up for the stage

Mario Maurer recently held a fan meeting with Baifern Pimchanok in The Philippines.
Five A-list actors discovered by famous talent scout Ae Supachai — Nadech Kugimiya, 22, Mario Maurer, 25, Weir Sukollawat, 29, Ken Phupoom, 22 and James Mar, 21 — will hold a concert together at Impact Arena on October 25 called Give Me 5: Concert Rate A.
On August 7, Ae Supachai and the five actors held a press conference at Paragon Hall to talk about their upcoming event.
DREAM TEAM
The press meeting opened with the five actors singing “12345 I Love You.” During the interview, Ae Supachai said that he dreamed of seeing his stars perform a full-scale concert together, so he consulted Chod Saithip, the Chief Executive Officer of GMM Media, to make his dream come true.
HI FIVE
The actors then took turns to talk about how they felt about their upcoming concert. They all said that they were very excited about it. The youngest actor in the group, James Mar, said he doesn’t have as much experience as the other actors, so he tries to learn as much as he can from them.
Nadech, who as well as being a skillful actor can sing and dance well, said that he was excited and hoped the concert would allow fans to know the actors better. Nadech also guaranteed that the concert will be lots of fun.
MUSICAL MARIO
Though Mario seemed a bit awkward while singing and dancing, he charmed the fans with his sense of humour. He joked that when somebody complimented his singing in a recording studio, he had to tell him that he was the first person ever to say something nice about his singing.
Mario said that in preparation for the concert, he has helped his voice by drinking lemonade. And because his singing isn’t strong, actors who starred with Mario in the blockbuster comedy ghost movie Pee Mak will perform with him at the concert.
BUSY STARS
Despite everybody being busy, Weir said that the actors all promised to be available for concert rehearsals. Nadech added that without proper rehearsals, the concert would never happen.
“We will do our best and dedicate ourselves to this event for our fans,” Weir said.
GIG GUEST
Apart from the five actors, Nadech revealed that top actress Yaya Urassaya will join him onstage, making fans who love to see them as a couple very happy.
At the end of the press conference, James intrigued his fans with a final comment.
“Everybody will see a performance that I’ve never done before, and you will see me differently,” James said. “Don’t forget to come and see us!”
